| Summary: | The article addresses the issue of second-generation Italian literature of the Holocaust. Within this literary production, there is a difference between the male approach, which favours the theme of travel or pilgrimage, and the female approach, which focuses on the relationship with the mother. Novels by Eraldo Affinati, Marco Belpoliti, Carlo Greppi, Helena Janeczek, Helga Schneider, and Filippo Tuena are analysed. With respect to the Italian specificity of deportation to Nazi camps, there has been a progressive eclipse of the figure of the political deportee, whose role as, on the contrary, of great relevance in the literature of concentration and extermination camp survivors. |
