Description
Summary:With the growth of the elderly population and the development of the disease-centered medical model, it is unable to satisfy clinical needs that evaluate the nutrition and prognosis of patients by body mass index. The patient-oriented model plays an increasingly important role in medical activities. The skeletal muscle is closely associated with the prognosis of patients. The skeletal muscle index (SMI) of the third lumbar vertebra (L3) measured by CT has significant value in guiding diagnosis, treatment and prognosis. In this paper, the current research results are reviewed and their application in oral and maxillofacial surgery is prospected.
