Siete ensayos de interpretación de la realidad peruana, his most important work has to be replaced in this context. In this book, Mariátegui pleads for an « integral » Peru, a national model based on the unity of all races. But there are some contradictions in this book, which break the idea of integration: social and racial problems which are not consistent with the national cohesion that Mariátegui claims, and which point out some misunderstanding in his analysis of reality. |
