Description
Summary:The aqueous extract of Pterocephalus nestorianus Nab. plant was used for the simple, green, economic and fast synthesis of nanoliposomes capturing the plant phytochemicals into their inner sell at different compositions. The phyto-loaded nanoliposomes (phyto-NLs or PNLs) then were structurally elucidated using TEM (Transmission Electron Microscopy), FE-SEM (Field Emissions Scanning Electron Microscopy), DLS (Dynamic Light Scattering) and FTIR (Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy) which revealed the well formation of spherical homogeneous PNLs in size ranging 20 to 80 nm loaded by phytochemicals. Also, Zeta-potential (z-potential) analysis was used for all different compositions of PNLs to detect the most stable one. Investigation of the bioactivity of PNLs showed a very good results for their antioxidant activities and antibacterial potential against dangerous pathogenic bacteria. Furthermore, due to the capturing of plant phytochemicals inside the nanoliposomes, the effect of PNLs was studied on reducing blood cholesterol of rat models which demonstrated very satisfactorily results and showed it can be a possible treatment for this problem.
