| Summary: | The article discusses the analytical aspects of the study of digitalization of the regional economy. The review of rating methods for assessing the level of digitalization of Russian regions and cities is given. Taking into account the accumulated experience and the coverage of publicly available static data, the main directions of the analysis of the digitalization of the economy are outlined. In relation to the regions of the Central Federal District, an assessment of the digital activity of the population and business, as well as the level of expenditures of regional budgets on ICT, was carried out. The key barriers hindering the digital transformation of regions have been identified. It is established that the penetration of digital technologies into the economy of the regions occurs unevenly. To overcome the «digital gaps», lagging regions need to focus on the best practices of the leading subjects of the Russian Federation. |
