Summary:Elements of Dialogue in Urdu Ghazal are of much importance. It is the<br />way of expression through which one can convince someone in a well-versed manner. Dialogue is often used as a tool of Novel, Drama, and Fiction but in Urdu and Persian poetry, it has been assimilated in different genres. Dialogue in Urdu Ghazal has very old history from the beginning. The first ever poets of Urdu like Masood Saad Salman, Ameer Khusro, Mullah Nusrati, and Quali Qutab Shah etc. have continued this convention in their Ghazals. In this article, a brief history of Dialogue in Urdu Ghazal has been analyzed in the light of poetry of those poets who maintained or contributed it in one or the other way.
