The paper gives the results of studies of the neurogenic component of pain in OA patients. There is sufficient evidence for the presence of sensory anomalies accompanying pain in OA. The clinical use of questionnaires to detect neuropathic pain may assist in identifying central sensitization in patients with OA. Medicaments for the symptomatic therapy of pain are characterized. |
