description Aim: This study was conducted to determine nurses' perceptions of compassion fatigue and the level of empathic anger, the relationship between them, and the level of impact. Method: The population of the study, which had a descriptive and correlation-seeking design, consisted of nurses working in a public training and research hospital (N: 550), and the sample consisted of nurses who agreed to participate in the research and completed the data collection tools completely (n: 440). The data of the study were collected via google form between April and August 2022, using an introductory information form, compassion fatigue brief scale, and empathic anger scale. Data were evaluated with descriptive statistics, normality, reliability, t-test, ANOVA, correlation, and regression analyses. Results: In this study, it was determined that the mean total score of the Compassion Fatigue Brief Scale was 74.47 (SD=22.93) and the mean Empathic Anger Total Score was 25.45 (SD=4.66). When the nurses' socio-demographic characteristics and their average scores on compassion fatigue and empathic anger levels were compared; A significant difference was found between the gender of nurses and the total and professional burnout subscale of the Compassion Fatigue Brief Scale (p<0.05). A significant difference was found between the nurses' ages and the total score of professional burnout and empathic anger, which are sub-dimensions of the Compassion Fatigue Brief Scale (p<0.05). In the model created to find factors that may affect nurses' compassion fatigue, it was found that they explained 21% of the variance related to empathic anger. Conclusion: In this study, nurses' compassion fatigue and empathic anger levels are high. It was also found that the perception of compassion fatigue affected the perception of empathic anger.
