| Summary: | Food is the basic need and right of human beings. Allah has created lot of resources of food for all poeple. Despite rich production of food, a large no of population is facing food insecurity in Pakistan due to poverty, inflation and low purchasing power. Whereas Islam has recognized food as a basic right of all poeple and presents strategy to provide food security to whole population, both in theory and practice. It is duty of state to take such measures for provision of this basic need and to elimination hunger from the society. A comprehensive approach has been presented in this article in the light of Islamic teachings for provision of food security specially to low income segment of the society. |
