Anatomically, it exhibits diverse morphological variations, including triangular, hook-shaped, and rounded forms. These variations not only contribute to understanding anatomical differences but also serve as anthropological markers for ethnic characteristics and ancestry in forensic contexts. Radiographic techniques such as orthopantomograms facilitate the identification and analysis of these morphological differences, essential for both clinical assessments and forensic identifications. Gender-specific differences in its morphology highlight the influence of genetic, hormonal, and developmental factors on mandibular structure. In conclusion, the coronoid process exemplifies a multifaceted anatomical structure with implications spanning clinical practice, anthropological research, and forensic sciences. Understanding its diverse roles and morphological variations enhances surgical outcomes, aids in anthropological studies, and contributes to forensic identifications, emphasizing its enduring relevance in both medical and scientific disciplines.
