Description
Summary:NiCo2O4/NF based on foam nickel(NF) was prepared and used as anode to construct a hydrogen production system coupled with sewage treatment by electrolyzing water through matching commercial platinum plate hydrogen evolution catalyst. The electrochemical performance of NiCo2O4/NF anode material was evaluated, and the sewage treatment performance and operation of the system were investigated. The results indicated that NiCo2O4/NF synthesized by one-step hydrothermal method had low overpotential and good stability. Applying 3 V to the system and after 96 hours, the removal rates of COD and ammonia-nitrogen reached 44.1% and 18.0%, respectively. The degradation of COD and ammonia-nitrogen showed high correlations with the pseudo-first-order reaction kinetics and had relatively low reaction rate constants under given conditions. The NiCo2O4/NF electrocatalyst and its constructed hydrogen production by water electrolysis synchronous sewage treatment system had realized the treatment and purification of sewage, as well as the production of hydrogen.
