Finalmente o coloca em seu contexto regional na arqueologia do Nordeste semiárido.
ABSTRACT
Furna do Estrago is an archaeological site of a semiarid landscape of the Brazilian Northeast, in the state of Pernambuco, with numerous preceding bibliographic references. The new test aims to produce a uni$ed narrative about the site, easier to read than the published fragments. It is based on the edited information and on the author’s field notes and photographs. The text presents the site and its environment as support for the comprehension of its implantation and use;reads anew the stratigraphy to provide abetter idea about the deposition and the occupation at difeerent moments; through the examination of the mineral, vegetal and animal residues seeks to apprehend the human activities; and, in a new look on the graves, seeks for regularities in the burials and diferences in the deposition of the corpses. Finally places the site in the regional archaeological context of the semiarid Brazilian Northeast.
