| Summary: | The analysis of wind power fluctuations is essential for strategic decisions, such as turbine generation control or the sizing of spinning reserves and energy storage systems. This study aims to characterize rapid power fluctuations in a wind farm located in northeastern Brazil, composed of turbines with Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) and Direct Drive (DD) technologies, using power spectral density (PSD) analysis. The origin and magnitude of the fluctuations are examined, as well as the smoothing effect resulting from turbine aggregation. It was found that, despite the different technologies, after the smoothing process, rapid fluctuations still account for an average of 4.89% of the total power generation. |
