description The introduction of an innovation or novelty in a given territory, particularly for actors with a certain level of seniority, can naturally provoke reactions, whether positive or negative. Based on this observation, a study was conducted to examine the social acceptance of market gardening activities within the University Omar Bongo. To this end, a methodological approach relying on a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews was implemented. The information gathered reveals that the market gardening areas at UOB are not part of a planned project. They have emerged spontaneously and are evolving in a disorganized manner under the observation of the institution's authorities. Consequently, 62.5% of users oppose the presence of these gardens within the university grounds. Furthermore, several residents believe that their proximity to these cultivation areas generates nuisances, such as intrusions and environmental pollution due to the use of chemical products. Although the University Omar Bongo is a place of study and research where various actors with sometimes divergent interests coexist, the continuation of this activity reflects a growing, albeit nuanced, social acceptance.
