description With the development of membrane anatomy, more surgeons realize that membrane anatomy plays a very important role in guiding surgical procedures for gastrointestinal tumors. Although there are still some controversies, many studies have traced the origin of various fascia structures from the embryonic development period. These studies clarify the relationship between membranes and membranes, membranes and tissues or organs gradually, which makes the surgical procedures more accurate. Precise surgery requires stable and refined surgical skills, and the Da Vinci robotic surgical system perfectly met these demands. By applying the concept of membrane anatomy with the advantages of Da Vinci robotic surgical system in the surgical treatment of rectal cancer, satisfactory clinical results were obtained. Here, we review the application of membrane anatomy in Da Vinci robot-assisted rectal cancer TME.
