Description
Summary:The ksurs of the south of Algeria are characterized by a specific architecture and a single organization, which reflects the lifestyle of the local society. The M'zab Valley, situated in Ghardaïa, holds ksurs and city gardens that are classified as a world heritage by the UNESCO considering their architectural and urban specificities. However, this heritage has been faced with urban agressions since many decades. In this paper, we try to discover the reasons and the responsible actors of the urban extensions that are weakening the M'zab heritage and harming its environment.
