Description
Summary:Halide perovskites have emerged as promising room-temperature thermoelectric (TE) materials due to their ultralow lattice thermal conductivity. Significant progress has been made in enhancing electrical conductivity, thereby improving TE performance in recent years. However, the trade-off between TE performance and material stability remains a key challenge. Since dimensional regulation plays a critical role in balancing TE performance and stability of halide perovskites, it is crucial to investigate the dimensionality-dependent TE properties and stability of halide perovskites, ultimately promoting understanding this inter-relationship and foster further development. In this perspective, we first introduce the fundamental thermal and electrical transport mechanisms relevant to thermoelectricity, alongside the stability considerations for halide perovskites with varying dimensionalities. Building on these foundational insights, we then summarize the latest advancements in TE research on halide perovskites. Finally, we propose several promising strategies, based on existing achievements, to further accelerate the development of halide perovskites for TE applications in the future.
