| description | The military service experience presents significant physical and psychological challenges for individuals. Soldiers, particularly those serving in war, conflict, and terror environments, may encounter various psychosocial issues, such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety, and adjustment problems. These issues affect not only military personnel but also veterans and their family members. Prolonged separation from family, intense physical training, and hazardous duties can negatively impact soldiers’ psychological and social well-being. Military social work aims to provide psychosocial support to cope with these challenges and to support the recovery processes of soldiers and their families. The aim of this study is to examine in detail the role of military social work in trauma and crisis intervention. The study seeks to reveal the application potential of military social work in this field by addressing theoretical and practical intervention models related to trauma and crisis. In particular, it analyzes strategies developed at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels to assess their effectiveness. At the micro level, individual counseling, psychotherapy, and support services will be addressed. At the mezzo level, group therapy and the importance of social support networks will be emphasized. At the macro level, policies and legislative regulations will be examined. Thus, through this study, the aim is to evaluate the strategies of military social work at the micro, mezzo, and macro levels and to propose effective interventions and implementation strategies. |
