description The ongoing Rohingya refugee crisis has precipitated profound humanitarian concerns, with food insecurity and heightened vulnerability to crime emerging as a good number of critical issues within refugee camps in Bangladesh. This study examines the complexity of the relationship between food insecurity and criminality specifically in the context of the Rohingya population. An approach of mixed-methods is employed in the technique, which combines quantitative responses obtained from structured surveys with qualitative insights derived from in-depth interviews and focus group discussions. Furthermore, the authors added that the study emphasizes the correlation between limited food availability and heightened social tensions, which subsequently trigger criminal activities in certain individuals. The results elucidate a multifaceted situation in which food insufficiency poses obstacles to community cohesion and fundamentally necessitates some residents to resort to criminal activities as a survival strategy. The results provide valuable insights for politicians and humanitarian workers, as the analysis of the evidence proposes strategies to decrease criminality in the camps by implementing enhanced food security measures.
