Description
Summary:The main goal of this paper is to use journalistic media as a source for understanding a specific social reality: Brazilian medical students in Paraguay, particularly those enrolled in private universities in border cities. Thus, based on newspapers ideas as historical sources and memory sites, we propose a qualitative research approach, with content analysis complemented by discourse analysis of articles and journalistic reports published in Brazilian and Paraguayan newspapers between January 2020 and December 2022 focusing on Brazilians migrating from different Brazilian regions to border cities between the two countries to study medicine. As the main result, we highlight the understanding of elements, discourses, tools, technical devices, and communicational mediations as assumptions of the processes involved in the new forms of socialization, existential ecosystems, and an organization mode for the migratory flow in question.
