description This paper examines the acquisition of Second Language in the classroom. The paper cites the ongoing increase of second language research and encourages educators to apply the more relevant research to their classroom methodology. Second language acquisition refers to what learners do; it does not refer to practices in language teaching, although teaching can affect acquisition. The term acquisition was originally used to emphasise the non-conscious nature of the learning process, but in recent years, learning and acquisition have become largely synonymous. In conclusion, there has been much debate about exactly how language is learned, and many issues are still unresolved. There are many theories of second language acquisition, but none is accepted as a complete explanation by all second language researchers. Due to the interdisciplinary nature of the field of second language acquisition, the researcher used to read for pleasure or what some refer to as extensive reading or free voluntary reading technique in order to solve some of these unresolved issues about the acquisition of second language in the classroom.
