Summary:Lung cancer, primarily nonsmall cell lung cancer (NSCLC), is a leading cause of cancer-related fatalities globally. Due to late detection, the 5-year survival rate for NSCLC remains low. Therefore, the current research aimed to assess the diagnostic and prognostic value of serum exosomal miR-874 levels in NSCLC patients. This study involved 161 NSCLC patients and 80 control subjects. Blood samples were collected from all participants, and serum exosomal MiR-874 levels were quantified using quantitative reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction. The study revealed a significant decrease in MiR-874 levels among NSCLC patients compared to controls. The receiver operating characteristic analysis demonstrated the diagnostic value of serum exosomal MiR-874 in effectively distinguishing NSCLC patients from controls.
