description Conflict between herdsmen and farmers has been on for decades. While both groups enjoy a symbiotic relationship, this relationship is sometime characterized by competition over natural resources such as fresh water and land. In Nigeria, while herdsmen and farmers clashes are rife in different parts of the country, the north central geopolitical zone has become a theatre of conflict between both groups. It provides the necessary recommendations which include developing mediation and conflict prevention capacities of the communities involved and early warning signal as well as training herdsmen and farmers at the local level and within rural community on the need to live peaceful communal life togrther.
