| Summary: | Objective To analyze the inflammation state and anemia in maintenance hemodialysis patients subject to central venous catheterization(CVC) and arterial venous fistula(AVF) retrospectively. Methods Seventy-six maintenance hemodialysis patients in our department were enrolled. All patients were divided into three groups according to the vascular accesses.Group A(n = 12) was given CVC only, group B(n = 17) was given AVF only, and in group C(n = 47),the patients were given CVC first, and then changed to AVF.All patients received routine hemodialysis 3 times per week for 6 months.Serum calcium,phosphorus,hs-CRP,IL-6,albumin,prealbumin,hemoglobin and erythropoietin(EPO) doses were measured at the experiment onset, and 6 months later. Results There were no significant difference in the serum calcium, and phosphorus levels among the three groups.Compared to the indexes at the experiment onset, there were no significant differenpes in the hs-CRP,IL-6 levels and EPO dose in group A and group B.Compared to the indexes at the experiment onset, the hs-CRP,and IL-6 levels in group C were decreased after 6 months[(4.12 ± 1.74) vs.(13.78±0.71),(71.42±26.52) vs.(131.16 ±40.28),P<0.05],and the serum albumin, prealbumin, and hemoglobin levels were increased[(42.15 ± 7.59) g/L vs.(32.85 + 3.76) g/L,(0.32 ±0.09) g/L vs.(0.22±0.08) g/L,and(110.28 ± 10.15) g/L vs.(94.67 + 9.73) g/L,P<0.05)],and erythropoietin(EPO) doses were decreased(8.32 + 0.78 vs.10.87 ± 1.29 × 103 U/W,P<0.05).There was a negative correlation between the serum hs-CRP,IL-6 levels and Hb levels(r =- 0.59,P<0.05,r=- 0.54,P<0.05),and a positive correlation between the serum hs-CRP,IL-6 levels and EPO doses(r= 0.64,P<0.05,r= 0.59,P<0.05).Conclusions AVF maybe improve the microinflammatory state and anemia in maintenance hemodialysis patients. |
