Description
Summary:All along the ethnography of three migratory waves leaving the same Mixtec village from Oaxaca (Mexico), the paper stresses the relationships that the migrants establish with their fellows who stay and with the ones, in town or elsewhere, who are «already there» and receive them. It intends to show that beyond the interactions between migrants, which migration studies usely account for, the very complexity of their interactions is what gives sense to the migratory experience, through the construction of communities of practice in different settings.
