| Summary: | Before NC programming,the expression of cutter path must be done to determine numerically controlled machining for generating conical cams surfaces.Based on the established analytical profile expression of conical cam with oscillation conical roller follower or with a translating conical roller follower in 3D space,method of determining the required cutter path for cutting conical cam profile using a NC milling machine is studied.The unified analytical expression of cutter path is provided for a tapered endmill cutter,whose size may be identical to or smaller than that of the conical roller.The results are not only the programming base for NC machining the surfaces of the conical cams,but also can be used to analyzing the errors of machining and process emulation of machining. |
