Description
Summary:This study aimed to implement a strategy to improve the eating habits of university students through nutritional education, using the NutriSmarTR application as an educational tool, which includes functionalities such as a food diary, personalized meal plan, educational information and interactive challenges. A mixed methodology was used, with which the application was designed and developed. An initial survey was applied to evaluate the need for the intervention, it revealed that 60% of the participants were male, and 40% were female, reflecting a high interest in participating in the application to acquire nutritional knowledge. Limitations included that the sample only consisted of university students from a single faculty, a factor that could limit the general applicability of the results obtained. This study contributes to the field of educational technology by integrating digital tools with food and nutrition education, demonstrating that the use of gamification is an effective strategy to motivate changes in eating habits. The results highlight that the use of the application can improve the adoption of healthy eating behaviors, underscoring the importance of adapting educational interventions to the needs and preferences of university students.
