| Summary: | This study explores the narrative style employed in the story of Prophet Ibrahim AS recounted in Surah As-Saffat (verses 101–110) and Surah Al-Baqarah (verses 258–260). The research aims to identify and understand the stylistic devices used within these two surahs, and how such devices enhance the narrative impact and convey deeper spiritual messages. Employing a qualitative descriptive method, the study integrates stylistic theory and structural analysis to examine the textual data. The research process consists of three key steps: data collection, data analysis, and presentation of findings. Verses 101–110 of Surah As-Saffat narrate the profound test faced by Prophet Ibrahim when he was commanded to sacrifice his son, Ismail. These verses utilize dramatic dialogue, symbolic imagery of sacrifice, and contrasts between servitude and divine command—features that not only intensify the narrative but also emphasize absolute submission and sincerity in obedience to Allah. Meanwhile, Surah Al-Baqarah verses 258–260 comprise three distinct episodes that highlight the majesty of God: a debate between Prophet Ibrahim and a defiant king, the resurrection of a man after a hundred years of death, and Ibrahim’s plea to witness how the dead are brought back to life. These stories are presented with vivid narration, detailed visualization, rhetorical questioning, and natural symbolism. Through the use of stylistic elements, these passages underscore God’s omnipotence while simultaneously strengthening the reader’s faith and conviction. |
