description To conduct the design and production of metro vehicles effectively, and reduce the violent vibration of assembled vehicles, the modal matching strategy and modal design principle for metro vehicles were proposed. Besides, the vibration responses of underframe with excitation from typical suspended equipment were studied, and the vibration comfort index of each part of vehicle body with or without excitation from suspended equipment were compared. The results showed that the vibration responses of underframe were variable with the changing of excitation position from different suspended equipment; the vibration comfort index of vehicle body increased when considering the excitation from suspended equipment compared to that of the condition without excitation from suspended equipment.
