Summary: | Solid edge-glued panels of Ukrainian enterprises are manufactured both for sale on domestic and foreign markets, as well as for the production of their own products.
Determining the yield of billets, the type and amount of waste are significant from the point of view of the integrated use of wood, therefore it is important to study the operational consumption of wood at the technological stages of manufacturing solid edge-glued panels.
One of the variants for the technological process of manufacturing glued panels from solid and spliced billets from dry edged oak lumber is presented.
The experimental studies were carried out in production conditions, using equipment from leading manufacturers such as Weinig Vertrieb und Service GmbH & Co. KG (Germany), Conception R.P. Inc. (Canada), Viet Italia S.r.l. (Italy), Omga (Italy) etc.
During the experimental studies, an analysis was carried out of all stages of the technological process of manufacturing glued panels from solid and spliced billets. Also, measurements of the size and quantity of billets were carried out to determine the consumption of raw materials at each production process stage.
During the experimental studies, sawn timber with a thickness of 31 mm, a width of 175 mm, a length of 2150 mm was processed with the following distribution by grade: Q-FA – 3.10%, Q-F1a – 7.88%, Q-F1b – 6.86%, Q-F2 – 13.83%, Q-F3 – 68.33% of their total volume.
In the course of the experimental studies the following quantity of solid edge-glued panels were manufactured with the following dimensions: 20×800×1,800 mm – 7 pcs.; 20×750×1,800 mm – 3 pcs. from spliced billets . 20×600×1,200 mm – 2 pcs.; 20×700×1,400 mm – 2 pcs.; 20×900×1,600 mm – 1 pc.; 20×500×2,000 mm – 1 pc. from solid billets.
The operating consumption of oak dry edged lumber per 1 m3 of solid edge- glued panels from solid and spliced billets is as follows: lengthwise cutting of dry edged lumber – 1.093 m3/m3; roughing planing – 1.272; cross-cutting of wood sections, with cutting out defects, into billets of fixed lengths and of different lengths – 1.381 m3/m3; finishing planing of solid billets – 1.215 m3/m3; splicing of billets (finger-joining of billets) – 1.037 m3/m3; finishing planing of spliced billets (finger-joined billets) – 1.354 m3/m3; calibration of glued panels – 1.097 m3/m3; trimming of glued panels along the perimeter – 1.047 m3/m3.
Under the studied conditions, the yield of solid edge-glued panels from the volume of dry edged lumber is 33.65%, of which 9.84% of glued panels are from solid billets and 23.81% are from spliced billets. The consumption of oak dry edged lumber to produce glued panels from solid and spliced billets under the studied conditions is 2,970 m3/m3.
The determined operating consumption of oak dry edged lumber is an important prerequisite for developing scienсе-based wood consumption standards in the production of glued panels, which can be used for rational planning of the process of manufacturing glued panels. |
