Description
Summary:The latin american left builded herself and evolved as the european left but with national and regional specificities. Thus, the populism constitiuted a special competition for the latin american left in the past and a real challenge for the left in genral, as in Latin America as in Europe today. For, these political phenomenons change according to times and is possible to follow their evolutions through an organisation not well-known but throwing light on the left: the Socialist International who conquisted Latin America after the second world war. The polemics around the «third way» especialy, give elements of an essential debat in the left: 1) the necessary taking in charge of the globalization for a social-democratic refondation; 2) the research of a new synthesis between socialism and liberalism at the theoretical and practical level; 3) an analysis of societies abaout themes like work, consumption, standart of life, respecting individual and collective dimentions; 4) strategic conceptions for progressist political alliances.
