Description
Summary:Mega projects include large-scale industrial areas, bridges, airports and transportation investments. The impact of these projects, which are effective in sectors such as agriculture, industry, transportation, infrastructure and energy, is mostly read through cities. The spatial dimension of the repercussions of these projects in large areas such as cities is mostly addressed and the impact on rural areas, which are the feeder elements of the city, is not sufficiently emphasized.  This study will examine the socio-cultural impacts of mega projects on rural areas through Yalova (Çiftlikköy) - Kılıç and Laledere Villages. Using qualitative research methods, the study will be analyzed through in-depth interviews and field studies. The research aims to examine the perception of the local people by revealing the socio-cultural changes in rural areas together with the transformation of the space. Since the study will examine the structure in rural areas on a sub-scale, in the context of the views of local people and the administration, it will allow closer and direct observation of the changes in the social life of individuals.
