Description
Summary:Engagement of microribonucleic acids (miRNA) in the regulation of cutaneous cellular health and diseases is a rapidly advancing niche in dermatology basic research. miRNAs have been identified to play a key role in the pathogenesis of various cutaneous inflammatory, autoimmune and neoplastic conditions, among others. In addition, their purported role as therapeutic targets and biomarkers in diseased conditions harbours exciting news for the approaching years in clinical research. The current review outlines the possible translational role of miRNA in skin health and diseases (encompassing pathogenesis, diagnosis, biomarkers and therapy) from bench to bedside.
