In vitro and in vivo screening of fungicides for controlling citrus melanose caused by Diaporthe citri
To verify the most efficacious fungicide for controlling citrus melanose caused by Diaporthe citri (Phomopsis citri), the inhibitory effects of four fungicides on the mycelial growth and conidial germination were assayed. The results showed that the median effective concentrations (EC50&l...

| description | To verify the most efficacious fungicide for controlling citrus melanose caused by Diaporthe citri (Phomopsis citri), the inhibitory effects of four fungicides on the mycelial growth and conidial germination were assayed. The results showed that the median effective concentrations (EC50) for tebuconazole, difenoconazole, prochloraz manganese chloride complex and mancozeb in inhibiting the mycelial growth of D. citri were 0.250, 0.497, 0.113 and 1.800 μg·mL-1, respectively, whereas the EC50 for these fungicides in inhibiting the conidial germination were 72.893, 42.746, 20.701 and 0.970 μg·mL-1, respectively. Field experiments in two sites showed that the controlling effects of mancozeb (80% WP, 600×) applied for five and three times reached 79.1% and 63.6%, respectively, significantly superior to prochloraz manganese chloride complex, difenoconazole and tebuconazole, suggesting that among these four fungicides, mancozeb is the best one for controlling citrus melanose. |
