description In order to study the characteristics of the antagonistic substance produced by Brevibacillus brevis JK-2, the stability experiments of the crude antagonistic extract of JK-2 were done and the active substance was isolated. Results showed that the crude antagonistic extract was not sensitive to proteinases, acids, alkalines and ultraviolet rays, but it denaturalized to some extent under 100℃ in 20 min, One antagonistic peptide with molecular weight of 4.1 kDa and one polysaccharide were extracted and purified from the crude antagonistic substances.
