| Summary: | Papilledema is a rare but recognized complication of hypocalcaemia with primary or surgically induced hypoparathyroidism. We report a case with primary hypocalcaemia who presented with bilateral cataract with Papilledema as the first clinical manifestation. Long-term complications of chronic hypocalcaemia like bilateral cataract, papilledema and basal ganglia calcification are rare. In this case we are highlighting the importance of hypocalcaemia as a rare but eminently treatable cause of Papilledema. |
