| description | Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is sufficiently studied in adults, has significant difficulties in diagnostics and treatment when its debut falls on adolescent period. In 2017, international consensus generalizing the available base of evidence in respect of aid to adolescents with PCOS was published. As the PCOS therapy for adolescents, we recommend methods of non-drug lifestyle correction; to reduce clinical symptoms of hyper-androgynism — local cosmetic manipulations. Medical interventions must be limited by application of insulin sensitizers and, according to indications, preparations with anti-androgenic effect. |
