Description
Summary:Objective To investigate the effects of Caterpilar Fungus on renal fibrosis in the rats induced by 5 /6th kidney ablation/infarctioa Methods Rats, which were made into chronic renal failure(CRF) animal models by means of 5/6 ablation/infarction,were divided randomly into model group(group B),and Caterpilar Fungus group(group C)(n = 10 each).Meanwhile, sham operation grourp(group A)was set up with 10 rats also. Each group was given relevant intervention treatment by administration for 60 successive days.Thereafter,SCr,BUN and Ccr were determined. The pathomorphologic changes of the nephridial tissue were observed. The expression of TNF-α mRNA in the remnant renal cortex and medulla was assessed by real-time PCR Results(1) After intervention treatment, the levels of SCr and BUN were decreased(P<0.01),and Ccr increased(P<0.01) in group C as compared with group B(P<0.01).As compared with group B after treatment,HB was increased(P<0.01),and SBP and DBP deseased in group C(P<0.01,P<0.05).(2) The pathological changes of the nephridial tissue in group C were obviously ameliorated as compared with group B(3) As compared with group A after treatment, the expression of TNF-α protein and mRNA(P<0.01) in the renal cortex and the medulla were obviously increased in groupd B and C,and that in group C was decreased as compared with group B(P<0.01).Conclusions Caterpilar Fungus can improve renal functions, and alleviate anemia and pathological changes of nephridial tissues, which may be related to down-regulation of TNF-α and inhibition of micro-inflammatory state in renal tissues of rats with CRF.
