Description
Summary:Abstract Objective In the theoretical article, we discuss Frantz Fanon’s contribution to psychology, based on Hussein Bulhan’s analysis of the Fanonian praxis, which results in the proposition of a Liberation Psychology. Method We reviewed Bulhan’s book Frantz Fanon and the Psychology of Oppression, focusing elements immanent to Bulhan’s theorization and making some problematizations, as well as dialoguing with Fanonian productions and secondary literature about his life and work. Results As a result, we explain: the relationship between Fanon and psychology; the central elements of the Bulhanian proposition of Liberation Psychology as an overcoming of the Psychology of Oppression; and the need, from the Fanon-Bulhan dialogue, to go beyond psychology, in a revolutionary praxis. Conclusion The Fanonian (and Bulhanian) winds, from the Psychology of Liberation, drive us not only to question which psychology and reality we want, but to put into practice the answers to those questions, transforming our psychology and reality.
