Summary:ObjectiveBased on the Riccati transfer matrix method, the dynamic lumped model for the analysis of the imbalance vibration characteristics of permanent magnet eddy current couplings was proposed.MethodsBy calculating and analyzing the rotor of the coupling with multiple preset imbalances, the vibration characteristics were explored under different imbalance distributions. The vibration characteristics were simulated by using three-dimensional finite element methods, and the analysis results were compared with the results obtained from the transfer matrix method.ResultsThe results indicate that within the test speed range, comparing the imbalance effects between the case where the imbalance affects the rotor on the same side of the observation and that on the opposite side of the observation, the rotor on the same side generates larger imbalance vibration.
