| Summary: | The aim of this study was to investigate the benefits of physical exercise for healthy aging. The assessment of functional capacity levels was conducted using the Fullerton Battery. The sample consisted of 38 elderly women (33 in the case group and 5 in the control group), aged over 60. Improved performance was observed in various variables in the Case Group, including the sit and reach test (p=0.034), reach behind the back (p=0.046), walking test (p=0.002), and stationary march (p=0.027), compared to the Control Group. Elderly women who engage in regular physical exercise demonstrate better functional capacity, particularly in terms of flexibility and aerobic endurance. |
