Pathogens and drug sensitivity analysis in 327 cases of peritoneal dialysis-related peritonitis
Objective To discuss the pathogens and drug resistance in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis(CAPD)-related peritonitis. Methods The pathogens and drug resistance were retrospectively analyzed on 180 cases(327 cases/times) of CAPD-related peritonitis in our center from Jan2008 to May 2013.Resul...

| description | Objective To discuss the pathogens and drug resistance in continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis(CAPD)-related peritonitis. Methods The pathogens and drug resistance were retrospectively analyzed on 180 cases(327 cases/times) of CAPD-related peritonitis in our center from Jan2008 to May 2013.Results Positive cultures were seen in 202 cases/times with culture positive rate being 61.77%.There were 154 cases/times of gram-positive cocci, including 123 cases/times(60.89%) of Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci. There were 38 cases/times of gram-negative bacilli, including 11 cases/times(5.45%) of E.coll There were 10 cases/times of fungi, including 7 cases/times(3.47%) of Candida. The drug-resistant rate of gram-positive bacteria to vancomycin was lowest(3.25%),followed by moxifloxacin(5.19%),rifampin(12.99%),gentamicin(35.71%) and levofloxacin(45.45%),and that to penicillin highest(84.42%).The drug-resistant rate of gram-negative bacteria to piperacillin/tazobactam was lowest(10.53%),followed by ceftazidime(23.68%),levofloxacin(26.32%),cefpiramide US(36.84%),and that to ampicillin/sulbactam was highest(50.00%).Of 54 cases of repeated infections(114 cases/times).72 cases/times were positive with the culture positive rate being 63.16%,including 63 cases/times of Gram-positive cocci, predominantly Staphylococcus aureus, accounting for 87.50%,and 9 cases/times of Gram-negative bacilli, predominantly Escherichia coli, accounting for 12.50%.The drug-resistant rate of Grampositive cocci to vancomycin was lowestCl.59%),followed by moxifloxacin(3.17%),levofloxacin(15.87%) and gentamicin(55.56%),and that to penicillin was highest(95.24%).The drug-resistant rate of Gram-negative bacilli to piperacillin/tazobactam was lowest(11.11%),followed by ceftazidime(22.22%),levofloxacin(33.33%),gentamicin(55.56%),and that to ampicillin/sulbactam was highest(88.89%).Conclusions The CAPD-related peritonitis in this center is mainly induced by Grampositive cocci Contact contamination is the main cause of peritonitis. The resistant rate of Gram-positive cocci to penicillin is highest, and that of Gram-negative bacilli to ampicillin/sulbactam is highest |
