| Summary: | Anaemia of Chronic diseases, (ACD), also known as anaemia of inflammation, is a condition associated with specific inflammatory chronic disorder, linked to a wide range of underlying conditions, including autoimmune and inflammatory diseases like lupus or rheumatoid arthritis, liver problems, certain infections, and chronic illnesses like cancer. These conditions are typically mild to severe, causing either no symptoms or, in mild cases, weariness, pallor, and light-headedness. Malignancy, persistent infection, and persistent immunological activation all exhibit this type of anaemia. In liver cirrhosis, particularly alcoholic liver cirrhosis, vitamin B12 and folate deficiencies are also common due to intestinal malabsorption and starvation. Excessive damaged to the liver might to its inability to function normally. Liver cirrhosis associated with ACD can be prevented through several ways, including; the liver would be kept in excellent condition, lifestyle modifications, that includes frequent check-ups, moderate to moderate alcohol consumption, physical activity, and a healthy diet. Liver biopsy is the gold standard among the several diagnostic methods that have been identified. Data were collected from Springer, Nature, Tailor and Francis, PubMed, Google Scholar, MDPI, BMC and some other related data. In this review, details insight on the molecular mechanisms, possible preventive measures and treatment options for liver cirrhosis associated with anaemia of chronic diseases were discussed. |
