Summary:The purpose of thisstudy is to review scientific articles, master thesis, thesis of specializationin Medicine and dissertations on specific learning disabilities which werepublished between 1972 and 2017 in Turkey. For this study, ERIC, EBSCO, Councilof Higher Education Thesis Center and Google Scholar databases were searched byusing specific learning disabilities, learning disabilities, learning disorder,math difficulties, reading difficulties, writing difficulties, writingdisorder, math disorder, reading disorder, dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculiakeywords and 189 studies met the inclusion criteria of this study wereexamined. The results show that the number of studies in this field hasincreased steadily especially in the last 10 years. It has been observed thatstudies have been carried out in a wide range of fields from mathematics to artand design science in 31 different subjects. Results of this study indicatesthat scientific research needs to be increased, especially in interdisciplinarystudies, for the development of the literature on specific learningdisabilities in Turkey. In this context, there is also a need for morescientific studies on specific learning disabilities in the field of specialeducation.
