description Aiming at the failue in small gears in wind turbine yaw drive system,through the analysis of failure forms of transmission gears and the errors in their manufacturing and installing,we conclude that the impulse loading caused by instant excessive accumulated errors is the main reasons for the gear failure.Combined with 1.5MV wind turbine,self-adaptive system of the yaw system is proposed,which is the flexible connection between small gears and fixed platform.The system adjusts the situations of gear meshing by adjusting the center distance between gears automatically.We want to solve the problem of instant overloading between the small gears and center gear,reduced the loading in starting and thus lengthen the life of the yaw system.
