Description
Summary:The emerging trends in communication and networks focus on integrating flexible solutions for both individuals and businesses. Network route versatility generates platform dependency, security, and performance issues. To address these issues, we need to focus on creating communication channels that do not rely on a specific platform and are able to select intelligent protocols. We propose an efficient and intelligent Cognitive (COG) Protocol to address routing issues and ensure optimized and secure routing. Our proposed protocol is based on cognitive behavior and utilizes the extension header field of IPv6 for route selection in wireless ad hoc networks. Our simulation results indicate that the COG Protocol significantly enhances energy efficiency and extends node lifetime compared to existing protocols. The COG Protocol achieved an average residual energy of 2.5J and prolonged the node lifetime to 352 seconds. Moreover, the COG Protocol demonstrated 20-35% lower energy consumption per transmission compared to alternatives. Our protocol utilizes the benefits of cloud computing, cloud storage, and the fast communication capabilities of IPv6. It provides a logic-based framework and a scenario-driven network protocol implemented in the Omnet++ simulator. The COG Protocol offers green and secure routing based on cognitive elementary memory intelligence, making it highly suitable for energy-efficient and secure wireless ad hoc networks.
