Description
Summary:In Peru, in the region of Arequipa, there is a geographic extension that has been recognized as a global geopark by UNESCO in 2019, this geopark located between the Colca Valley and the Volcanoes in the provinces of Caylloma and Castilla, is the first geopark in Peru, and covers a set of traditional communities with their respective economic activities in its interior, which also represents a wide range, rich in cultural values. In this gopark there are geological, ecological, palaeontological and architectural elements, among other resources, which clearly represent potential for development that the communities hope to achieve in the medium and long term. There are also a series of shortcomings, or problems, that need to be addressed in order to set an adequate development process in motion, as well as the communal interests of the people, thus cataloguing the aspirations of the communities in the search for their development. The combination of these factors, potentials, problems and interests recreate a forceful scenario which we call development opportunities.
