description Mucormycosis is a fungal infection that mostly occurs in immunocompromised patients. Other risk factors are diabetes mellitus, solid organ transplant, and long use of glucocorticoids. Early diagnosis and treatment should be made due to the fierce behavior of this infection and the high chances of dissemination. Here, we present a case of pulmonary mucormycosis in a diabetic and hypertensive patient who had a renal transplant and presented with cough, hemoptysis, and shortness of breath. After all investigation, he was diagnosed with pulmonary mucormycosis and treated with antifungal drugs. The patient died due to the aggressive nature of infection and renal failure.
