| Summary: | A survey is given over the end or method as applied to organic doublet radicals in solution. After discussing the experimental requirements for successful end or-in-solution work, selected examples are presented which demonstrate the power and limitations of the endor method. The examples chosen cover endor work on protons, 19F, 14N, and 13C nuclei in radicals dissolved in isotropic and anisotropic solutions. Some emphasis is put on 14N-ENDOR in liquid crystals because by this technique quadrupole couplings of radicals in solution can be measured directly from the line positions. In an Appendix a complete survey is given of ENDOR-in-solution publications.
