description Everyone knows that singing is a fun and enjoyable way to learn a language, and an effective way. We also know that this effectiveness can, from pedagogy to politics, affect more than one field. The historical importance of artistic movements such as "La nova cançó" in Catalonia or "La nòva cançon occitana" in Occitania, and in the rest of France, is well established. Nevertheless, if the benefits of the song are obvious in terms of the revitalization of a minority language, we must question the limits of such a practice. Indeed, we should not fall into the illusion that the work of art can do everything. Despite its undeniable advances, especially on the symbolic level, the song is insufficient in terms of the effective revitalization of a minority language. Our purpose will be to say why the song is both an indispensable and limited means, and to show what broader process it should integrate so that the resocialization of the minority language is real.
